Confronting the predictably unpredictable nature
of real-world implementation

Syntegral fosters and supports the ability of donor and government agencies, implementing organizations, educators and front-line workers to maximize program impact and scale by strengthening capacity for program adaptation in response to the real-world complexities of implementation. We accomplish this through the integration of research, methods and tools drawn from the cognitive, behavioral, and implementation sciences with theories of scalability, complexity and learning.

Syntegral believes that better adaptation practices come about by improving the adaptive capacity of stakeholders and implementers at every level of a project’s undertaking. We define adaptive capacity as the ability to translate knowledge and critical thinking about complexity and adaptation into effective implementation behavior. By improving this capacity, Syntegral aims to ensure that the predictably unpredictable nature of real-world implementation does not derail stakeholders’ objectives.
